What we Do
The Sporting Lands Alliance will educate landowners about the importance of open space preservation and encourage them to consider taking steps to preserve their property. The Sporting Lands Alliance is collaborating and partnering with Michigan’s various land conservancies, conservation and recreational clubs. The SLA is also working with local, state, and federal agencies that provide technical assistance, advice, and funding to landowners interested in preserving their open spaces and link them to the appropriate agency.
Partnering with Sporting Groups

Michigan’s sporting and recreational groups have a vested interest in preserving land and access to publicly owned lands throughout Michigan.

As a federally approved land conservancy, the SLA is partnering with various groups to assist in preserving property for its natural resource and recreational values for our children and grandchildren’s future use and enjoyment.

Alternative Development
The Sporting Lands Alliance will work to stop the fragmentation of open space by promoting alternative development methods, encouraging sound land use practices, as well, as promoting economically beneficial land use alternatives for landowners.
Monitoring
The Sporting Lands Alliance will diligently monitor various ordinances, policies, and legislation's that affect open space preservation and the use of open space at the local, state and federal levels.
Where We Work
The Sporting Lands Alliance is currently working in south east Michigan with plans to partner with other conservancies and sporting organizations throughout our state.
